Since the closing of the acquisition, we have gotten many questions concerning the future of the ChipX brand and the ASIC solutions that ChipX offers. We are concerned that there may be a lot of confusion out there right now, and I simply want to help clear some things up.
1. Will GigOptix continue to build, support and amanufacture the ASIC products?
We will continue to build and support the ASIC products for as long as customers are still interested in the extraordinary ChipX brand of ASICs. We are committed to the technology and the product line.
2. What will happen to my sales, engineering and operations contact?
For the foreseeable future, your sales, engineering and operations contacts will remain the same, and you will likely enjoy the extended Sales Force of GigOptix.
3. Why is the ChipX business important to GigOptix?
The ChipX brand is important to GigOptix because it will enable us to migrate some of our products to the CMOS process and provide our customers higher levels of integration and lower cots. also, some of our customers are interested in custom solutions which is ChipX's core competency. In addition we are delighted to discuss with you our other GigOptix products which you may find of major interest.
4. How will GigOptix stengthen/add value to the ASIC business?
GigOptix can add value to the ASIC business by contributing our IP and our expertise to broaden the IP blocks that are available through ChipX. We also have many current customers that my be very interested in becoming new customer of the ChipX product line. By GigOptix being a public company, we also can support the ASIC business with a stronger financial backing.
5. Will the company name change?
The combined company is called GigOptix, Inc. however; we will have a ChipX product line that includes all products and services that ChipX has provided in the past.
