Custom Analog Design

In analog systems design, many different parameters matter. A lot. Input voltage, input noise, impedance. Because it is not always possible to adapt external system components to standard values or ranges, ChipX can adapt analog IP to your needs. Our analog to digital converters (ADC), digital to analog converters (DAC), amplifiers, comparators, regulators, output stages etc. can all be modified to suit your needs. When adapting existing IP to your needs, ChipX re-uses as much as possible of the existing design, thus lowering design risks, and giving better visibility of expected system performance compared to new, made-from-scratch designs. Examples of parameters that can be changed include resolution, input voltage range, input impedance, output impedance, speed (and hence, power consumption), drive strength, etc. Using this methodology for analog design also makes for a quick turn-around time, typically much faster than custom-made analog signal processing or data conversion blocks, and sometimes even faster than acquisition of third party IP (due to negotiation times). Customized analog IP can be implemented in ChipX analog standard cell ASIC, or in analog Hybrid ASIC

Turnkey Analog Design

Have a great idea, but not much analog design experience? Nervous about building the analog or mixed-signal portions of your design? Trying to replace existing, discrete analog components in your system? ChipX can offer complete, turnkey analog design services. Typically, customers will specify desired system functionality, and may provide current, discrete working examples or other supporting information. ChipX will assign members of our analog design team to your project, and together we will form a suitable specification. ChipX will help deciding which components should be integrated, and which components are best kept outside of an analog ASIC. Once a system architecture is established, ChipX will collect the required analog IP, mixed-signal IP and digital IP from its extensive library or through external partners. Finally, ChipX will integrate all building blocks, and conduct a full approval cycle with you before we tape-out parts. The only customer interaction required is to approve system architecture, system performance, timing details.

With just an idea, a high level block diagram, or a full schematic, we can implement the silicon you need using in-house, customer-owned, or third party IP combined with our design service. Contact us with your idea, and we'll help you implement it into an analog ASIC or mixed-signal ASIC.
