Conversion to Standard Cell

In very high volume production, a Standard Cell ASIC is the most cost-effective solution and ChipX will help you get there. Our foundry relationships provide us with low-cost manufacturing and our knowledge of your design enables us to seamlessly migrate you to a Standard Cell device that will behave identically to your Structured ASIC. 

ChipX X-Path offers a unique conversion method from Structured ASIC to Standard Cell that re-uses most of the design effort from the Structured ASIC, thereby significantly shortening the conversion process, and all but eliminating conversion risks.

Our engineers have all been trained for many years in designing Standard Cell ASICs. Having worked on your design in a constrained Structured ASIC environment, X-Path makes it easy to migrate your design to a Standard Cell ASIC, where logic and memory placement is relatively unconstrained compared to Structured ASIC. 

With X-Path, and risk mitigation as our highest priority, we reuse all we can from the Structured ASIC design, including:

  • The Structured ASIC netlist with DFT in place
  • The simulation environment and test benches
  • The tester ready vectors
  • The existing test hardware
  • The IP and memory as well as I/O as required
  • The package design (depending on size reduction)
